Amendment I, the very first words of the Bill of Rights are “Congress shall make no law.” In the First Amendment there are six separate limits to the power of Congress.
Amendment II, again limitations of government, this time to not infringe on the rights of the people to bear arms.
Amendment III, alludes to the rights of the “homeowner.”
Amendment IV, protecting the individual against government’s reach.
Amendment V, the rights of the individual are protected at least five times.
Amendment VI, this one protects the individual’s rights seven times.
See where this is going yet? Let’s jump to the final Amendment of the Bill of Rights, number Ten. Lately old number 10 has been the most abused.
Amendment X: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
Note how far and how many times the framers of our Constitution sought to limit the scope of government and its intrusion into the lives of the individual. How do the members of Congress and our President even look at themselves in a mirror every morning? Had they been around when this document was being written they would have been dressed in red coats and working for King George III.

I would love to know how many current elected officials have even read the constitution. It’s pretty clear to me that the majority has either not read it or has a complete disregard for it.
