Bring Back America

This is the term that Obama used to describe the effort by the UAW to aid the reorganization effort of Chrysler .  This guy is worse than I could have possible imagined.  He is a flat out shyster.  I’ll give you an example of one of the “enormous concessions” that the auto workers agreed to:  after some long and very tough negotiations, the labor union agreed that they would only get paid overtime in the future after they have worked a total of 40 hours in a week.  No, that is not a typo.  Only after 40 hours.  Excuse me?  That’s right, currently they can earn overtime well before they reach the 40 hour mark.   Anybody wondering why this thing tanked?

In return for these “enormous concessions”, the union would be rewarded with a 55% ownership position in the company. 55%.  That was the deal that was struck and orchestrated by the government.  So  the people who drove the company down the tubes by forcing uncompetitive work rules would be rewarded by getting majority ownership of the company.  Let’s also put the mice in charge of the cheese factory.     

Are you kidding me?

Remember how when Bush was President, everything bad that happened in the world was his fault?  Whether it was the subway bombings in Spain, or the floods in New Orleans, or the dead skunk in the road, it was all Bush’s fault.  I only bring this up because it occurred to me today that if the Swine Flu happened a year ago, you know darn well that, somehow, Bush would be getting hammered over it for either allowing it to happen or not doing enough to stop it.

Remember just last month our lady from Fat Bottom, err Foggy Bottom, Mrs. Bill Clinton took a trip to Mexico? Is it possible it had anything to do with the Swine Flu? What would this mutant virus look like? Is it any wonder the threat alert level was raised to five?

Have you all heard?  Joe Biden lives and is still as stupid as ever.  In another brilliant moment this morning the VP said to the press that he had told his family to avoid flying and riding the subway due to the swine flu.  Needless to say the airline industry and the mass transit industry were kind of perturbed.

Leave it to Joe to take care of this issue.  He had his staff issue a press release saying that he meant only if you were going to Mexico.  I am not a New Yorker but does the subway go to Acapulco???? This is only slightly dumber than his last great comment during the campaign, speaking of how Franklin Roosevelt went on TV to calm the fears of the nation during the great depression.  I don’t know about you, but I sleep much better at night knowing that Uncle Joe is a heartbeat away from the Presidency.

With apologies to Bob Dylan, President Obama claims that current the $1.3 Trillion deficit had nothing to do with him. “We inherited a $1.3 trillion deficit… that wasn’t me.” Oh really? I am so sick of hearing this type of argument and I’m sick of the stupid media and the stupid  people in this country believing it. As outlined in the US Constitution, the Congress controls the purse strings in this country and not the President. Congress passes the budget and the President signs it. President Bush may have signed the last budget but it was the Democratic controlled Congress that passed it. In fact the Democrats wanted to spend more in the emergency stimulus package than Bush was willing to spend. And current President, Obama was right there with them. If you look at the problems that we face in this country right now, you can trace many of the roots back to Congress. Yet all we hear from these “great” leaders is , “blame Bush”. It’s time for American people to wake up and look at the real problem in this country, Congress. We need to turn all of these people out because they are killing us. When the elections come up, vote them all out and let’s start over. And I’m not talking about Democrats or Republicans, I’m talking about all of them.

This one is beyond belief. Then again it’s the work of a government agency.

FEMA has created a coloring book for children. The book is supposed to teach kids how to cope with disasters. In it are all kinds of goodies you probably want your 5-year-old to know about: fires, earthquakes and planes piloted by Muslims, flying into buildings.

So give the kids some milk and cookies and the new FEMA coloring book to keep them busy. This is your federal government at work. Surprised?

As I sit here wondering how we got to where we are right now, concerned about where we are heading, I am constantly forced to wonder: where is the next great conservative leader?  Who is it that we will put up in 2012 that will be strong enough to overcome the overwhelming odds that any Republican must endure in a country where the media is so biased that it is amazing that any Republican ever wins anything?  Who can be strong enough to turn the tsunami-like wave of socialism that is quickly consuming our country?  Who is it that is so clean that the platoons of lawyers and journalists that will be unleashed to dig up dirt will come back empty handed?  Who is that conservative man or woman who can think on their feet, communicate like a pro, and debate like a scholar? 

I have to say that, sadly, I dont think we know.  Will it be one of the current or former governors like Romney, Jindal, Sanford, Jeb Bush, Pawlenty, Huckabee,  or Palin?  I think Palin is a good candidate but she has been damaged beyond repair by the liberal media.  Does David Petraeus have what it takes to be on the national stage?  Michael Steele is a good guy with good conservative values but I havent seen the fire from him that it will take to energize this party.  Newt is brilliant and I would vote for him tomorrow but he will be portrayed as the “old Republican guard”.  We need one of the fresh faces to stand up and start taking charge like he owns the place.

And it better start happening soon…..

How many times have we listened to the hip President Obama claim “That wasn’t me” when he’s questioned about the $1.3 trillion deficit he claims he inherited? It’s time for him to stop lying.

Here’s why he should be called out on this. The President isn’t the one that controls spending. That’s the job of Congress. And for the last two years Congress was under Democrat control, of which he was a part of. So by all rights Obama has inherited this mess from Obama.

Ultimately this should make for some pretty interesting theater. This week the Anointed One had a conversation with his alter ego, the teleprompter. Maybe next week we’ll watch him on TV defending himself against his own accusations about himself. It’s a bit confusing, but so are his voodo economics.
